Beautiful Weather

It's hard to believe we were playing in snow a week ago, when you see these pics:

It was a BEAUTIFUL week, so we spent lots of time outside soaking in the sun!  Last weekend we stopped by Great Grandma Audell's apartment to give her & her neighbor, Mary, Valentine's Day flowers.  Then Kasen had his Valentine's party at school on Wednesday (Monday, Valentine's Day, was a teacher in-service day).  Other than that, we played at a few parks & enjoyed this rare warm weather.  It was a fabulous week!

Ice/Snow WEEK

What a contrast to my last post...  but, that's Texas for you!  Shorts one week, heavy coats the next.
Before we get to the big winter storm, here's a couple of pics of Kasen helping daddy fix his car (which he LOVED!).

Then...  the storm hit.  The first day it hit (Tuesday), Kasen & I stayed home together & Luke went in to work.  We spent a lot of time playing Legos, of course.
The next day, Luke stayed home too.  Still just ice, nothing exciting. By Thursday, the roads were clear enough that Luke & both went in to work & Kasen went to Mimi & Papa Wayne's house, where he spent the night.  (It was a good thing he did, it took us 2.5 hours to get home because the roads were so bad & traffic was horrible.)
Then came Friday...  it brought lots & lots of SNOW!  We got at least 6" here, which is nothing compared to last year, but still SO MUCH for Texas.  Luke & I went in to work again (he drove 'cause I'm a big chicken).  My office closed at 11am, so I had lots of time to play with Kasen in the snow before Luke picked us up.
Making a snow angel:
 Getting Mimi with a snowball.
A BIG snowball (although they really didn't stick together much, this snow wasn't much fun really).
He decided at the last minute that he didn't want to try the pole this day.  ;)
Papa Wayne just happens to have an 8' toboggan - who knew you'd need on in Texas?
Papa Wayne was a great sport & let Kasen pull him too.
Saturday, Luke headed to work again (on those HORRIBLE roads, sigh), so Kasen & I played in the snow while it lasted.
How cute is he???
The snowballs really didn't cooperate well, the snow was just not wet enough.  It was still fun though!
Kasen loves the snow this year!
Yes, his pants & gloves were completely covered in snow clumps.  (He had more than 1 pair of pants on, don't worry.)
What is it about snow that makes everything so absolutely gorgeous?  Oh, wait, this little guy doesn't need snow to look gorgeous!  ;)
The dogs LOVED playing in the snow (no, we didn't gain a dog, we're just babysitting Cha Cha).
