Showers & Messes!

Luke's wonderful co-workers threw a surprise shower for him!  It was so sweet & he was totally surprised!  The place was decorated beautifully & everything was absolutely perfect!

Behind us in this pic, there was a wishing tree, where everyone left their wishes for us.

 Absolute cuteness!!!
This is what Luke walked into on Friday morning (he'd been in Louisiana for a couple of days & had no clue anything was going on).  I was told his reaction was "that's my kid!" (when he noticed the ultrasound pic).  I'm glad they were able to pull of the surprise, so fun!

I tried to put these in order, but technology isn't cooperating, so take a backwards trip in time with me...  ;)
Sunday morning Shannon (Auntie), Sabrina, & I headed to Fair Park for The Color Run.  It was a lot of fun!  I want to do it again some time (maybe next year??) & take Kasen because I think he'd love it!

Since we're travelling backwards...  here's the aftermath!

Sabrina's face didn't get hit much, but the side & back of her neck were CAKED in green!

Life has been crazy, busy, & fun.  Time is flying by & I know it'll be time to meet Sweetie Pie before we know it!  It's already almost MARCH!

Meet Sweetie Pie!

After weeks & weeks (okay, really, months & months!) of waiting, the BIG DAY arrived...  Time to see this little baby for the first time!  (Not entirely true - there was an ultrasound much earlier in the pregnancy but not only was the baby a "blob", but the baby was also hiding, so we couldn't actually see much.)
We made sure Kasen was with us to be a part of this special moment.  I'm pretty sure Kasen & Luke were both convinced this was a girl.  I wasn't really sure (I have NO instincts in that department), but I had serious doubts about this one being a girl.
So...  when we got to peek at the gorgeous little baby & the tech said "can you tell?"...
We were pretty surprised to see a BOY!!  A BROTHER for Kasen!!  So exciting!
I asked Kasen what we should name him & he immediately told me "Sweetie Pie", so there you have it folks - Sweetie Pie it is.  ;)
Kasen has been much more loving & interested in the baby since the ultrasound, so I do think it made it more real for him.  He even just sits next to me sometimes & puts his hand on my belly.  He is going to be such an amazing big brother!
Sweetie Pie is absolutely perfect.  Measurements are right on target, his heart is perfect, his cute little face appears to be flawless, and he has plenty of fluid to float around in.  He DID NOT stay still, which wasn't surprising to me 'cause he is the complete opposite of how Kasen was & LOVES to move around, hit, kick, punch, dance, and whatever else in there.  It does lead me to wonder if he will be the complete opposite of Kasen on the outside too.  Who knows???
The first thing we did when we left the appt was go to Target & let Kasen pick out Sweetie Pie's first outfit (yes, I was a sucker & let him pick out pajamas AND onesies AND socks too!) & a toy for Sweetie Pie.  Here are his choices:

As of today (2/7), I'm 22.5 weeks pregnant, so just 17.5 more weeks to officially go.  Could be more...  but let's hope it's less.  ;)  I'm right on track for weight gain, my blood pressure is great, and other than being tired (nothing new!), I'm feeling pretty good.  I've slacked off on running because I've been too tired lately, but I do hope to have the energy to get back on track soon.
