May 28, 2012... Welcome, Sweetie Pie Sparkles!

On Monday, May 28th - Memorial Day (and Luke's Grandma Iva's birthday), Sweetie Pie Sparkles (aka Graham Lucas) made his appearance.  It was an amazing birth experience, I truly can't imagine it being more perfect (unless I could've done it without any pain).  You can read the birth story here, if you like, I won't repeat myself by adding it here too.  Graham did have the cord wrapped around his neck twice, but it didn't bother him at all, he never showed any distress.  His blood sugar was a little low at birth, but it was within normal range in no time.  He is still 100% healthy & growing, and I feel great.  I requested to go home from the hospital at 24 hours, and we were home, as a family of FOUR about 30 hours after his birth...  signing papers for an offer on our house!  Graham is our little good luck charm, that brought us a good offer on his BIRTHday, and so our family grew & started to really move to our next chapter on the same day.
Here are a few pictures from labor (just the "nice" ones ;)), and Graham's first day.

This was about 20 minutes before he was born.
 Adoring our new little guy.
Our first family picture (I still don't have one of the FOUR of us!).
He came out alert & happy (& ready to eat!).
 Isn't he a doll?
 Proud daddy.

Kasen fell right into his role as big brother, no problem.  He LOVES Graham.

In the car, ready to pick up big brother & go home!

It's been two weeks (yes, I'm behind), and while we're all tired & still learning our new roles, we are all loving our new family of four!

I'm behind. Again. Big surprise.

Quick catch up post for now, I'll try to get a really special post up tomorrow... or one day soon.  ;)

Kasen graduated from preschool!  There's not much cuter than a bunch of 4 year olds in their caps & gowns.

Yes, we all look thrilled here, don't we?  ;)
Of course Mimi, Papa Wayne, Ma, & Papa Vergil were all there for the big day.  Man, we're sure gonna miss sharing all the milestones with them!
Kasen attempted to ride a bike with no training wheels.  It wasn't pretty & he hasn't tried again yet.
A couple of weeks ago, we had a "Kasen Day", so he could get some special attention before Sweetie Pie Sparkles came.  One thing we did was go to Build a Bear & let him make his brother a special stuffed animal.  He picked a bear, told them to make it extra soft, and put a recording in it that says "I love you very much Graham Lucas B-----, you're my best friend ever."  Or something along those lines.  He said it all himself, with no prompting from us, so it was extra sweet.

After trying on a few outfits, he decided to dress "Lovingness" in a robe & slippers.  I'm sure Sweetie Pie Sparkles will love him.
...and, here we go, my belly at 38 weeks pregnant.
