CHRISTMAS 2009!

What a strange Christmas in Texas! 2 days before Christmas we were wearing shorts... Christmas Eve it was snowing!

Kasen joined me for my office Christmas party on Christmas Eve. Afterwards, the drive home was long with lots of sitting. I took advantage of that sitting - here's what downtown Dallas looks like during a snowstorm.

Once we got home, he grabbed a nap with daddy (well, you know he didn't SLEEP, but close enough).

Then it was time to decorate Jesus' birthday cake!

He did a great job I think.

Usually we have family stuff on Christmas Eve, but this year we had no plans at all.

Kasen said he wanted to go have a burger & fries (he ate the fries, not the burger), so we went to Chili's for Christmas Eve dinner. When we got home, we discovered that the Pajama Fairy had come! This year she brought Transformer pajamas for everyone. Kasen was really excited about them! We had to hurry & get to bed though, 'cause once the Pajama Fairy has come, Santa isn't far behind...

We woke up to a white Christmas! Seriously. Dallas, TX had a white Christmas! Now, it wasn't what most people think of when they hear "white Christmas", but any amount of snow is shocking in Texas this (or any) time of year.

When Kasen came downstairs, he wasn't sure if he should go for Santa or the scooter...

Santa won first...

but not for long, he was off to ride the scooter!

He didn't want any help opening gifts this year. He did want to help everyone else open gifts though. ;)

Kasen finally climbed up in Santa's lap to open a few gifts. "Santa" started to talk & Kasen immediately looked around & asked where Papa Vergil was.

A little while later, "Santa's" hands came around Kasen & he looked at them, turned & looked at Santa, & asked where Papa Vergil was again. He's only 2 - he shouldn't be figuring this out already, right? He's just too smart for his own good!

After breakfast, we got to sing happy birthday to Jesus & eat some cake! After singing, Kasen said "I want Jesus to come visit me". ♥ Of course I told him that He is always here with us.

The day after Christmas, Kasen woke up (late!) INSISTING on going to see Mimi & Papa Wayne. We obliged.

Papa Wayne had a bucket of snowballs left & Kasen loved them. He decided to throw a few at daddy...

He hit him! Sunday was a lazy, lazy day. Kasen got lots of playtime in with his new train! (Thanks Papa Vergil & Ma!)
