Yep, you read that right! Can you believe it? 8 months & 3 days old & he took his first steps! I'm not gonna call it walking. It was a few occasions of him taking a few steps to get to myself or Luke, and while we were both shocked & excited, he has a little work to do before he's walking, walking.
What a crazy week, huh? Snow... TWICE... after being in the 70s last weekend. Man, you just gotta love Texas! We only got snow here the 2nd time around - Thursday night (or the wee hours of Friday morning), but it all melted before we got a pic of Kasen. So, there will be no official record of Kasen's first snow. Oh well, you can't get it all, right?
Thursday we had a playdate! Yay! Let me give you a little interesting story that ties in with the playdate... For those of you who don't know, Luke's mom's name is Patti. In our birth class, we meet another Patti... Who had a little boy... Guess what she named him?! Luke. Seriously. As if that's not weird enough, we have to go & make it Twilight Zone-ish, by adding the fact that Patti has a nephew named... Kasen (only spelled differently, not sure how). Freaky, huh? Anyway, here are a few pics from the playdate. It was a lot of fun, but Kasen did get a little mean & try to use Luke to pull up on. I think Luke was over him after he started doing that. (And isn't Luke just the cutest thing?)

This actually might be his favorite toy, it's at least in the top 3. He get so happy when he sees it! mostly 'cause he's obsessed with looking at himself in the mirror.
I would say this is Kasen's 2nd favorite book right now - the first being 10 Little Ladybugs.
Because Grandma asked if he still plays with this...
And, because this is the sight I would've loved to have seen from day 1. (But I'm just glad it did finally come!)

WTG!!! And I love the pics, he's sooo sweet sleeping! BTW, what is the mirror toy he's playing with? Raemi LOVES mirrors too, and she has a mirror from when she was tiny for tummy time, but it knocks right over now when she tries to play with it.
